Kano Governor Abba Yusuf: Hoodlums Stole Ganduje’s Corruption Documents During Protest

Kano Governor Abba Yusuf claims that suspected hoodlums seized documents related to alleged corruption cases involving Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), during the #EndBadGovernance protest.

During the protest, which saw looting and destruction in various parts of the country, public buildings, including a court in Kano, were breached.

Ganduje, a former governor of Kano, faces corruption allegations along with members of his family and associates.

While assessing the court’s damage on Wednesday, Yusuf condemned those responsible for taking the documents, referring to them as “enemies” of Kano.

“It is deeply regrettable that adversaries of Kano state employed undesirable elements to vandalize one of our historic public buildings with the intention of obstructing corruption charges against the national chairman of APC and former state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family, and his aides,” said Sunusi Tofa, the governor’s spokesperson.

Yusuf estimated the loss from the destruction at N1 billion, noting that the office of the chief judge was also ransacked by the intruders.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and properties of Kano residents, urging youths not to be swayed by “detractors” into violence.
