Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, recently praised the vibrant exchange of knowledge facilitated by the Nigeria For Women Project (NFWP). The event, held at MITROS Residence in Abeokuta, brought together teams from Ekiti and Delta States.
Adeleye, along with senior Ministry officials, commended the visiting teams for their dedication in studying the successful implementation of the NFWP in Ogun State.
The NFWP is a strategic long-term partnership between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the World Bank, aimed at ensuring gender equality and supporting women’s economic participation on a large scale.
As Nigeria’s first such initiative, the NFWP is designed to address barriers to women’s prosperity and build social assets for their economic participation.
The project’s approach is tailored to local contexts, aiming to enhance women’s economic outcomes and contribute to poverty reduction through improved well-being for households and communities.
Adeleye emphasized the importance of cross-state collaboration, noting that sharing insights and best practices can help overcome common challenges and expand the impact of empowerment initiatives.
She encouraged the visiting teams to implement these proven practices in their regions, aiming to achieve the project’s goals and foster greater empowerment and financial literacy across Nigeria.
