Ogun State is set to advance its sustainable transportation efforts with the launch of Phase 2 of its energy transition plan. Governor Dapo Abiodun announced that, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and Senator Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali, the state will introduce electric bikes as part of its e-mobility programme.
The initiative is driven by the government’s focus on reducing reliance on petrol and transitioning to cleaner energy sources. This move is aimed at addressing economic challenges and lowering transportation costs. The official launch will take place on Wednesday, July 31st, at the Arcade Ground, State Secretariat, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun highlighted that this event will demonstrate Ogun State’s commitment to environmental sustainability and its dedication to innovative public-private partnerships, aligning with the “Building Our Future Together” agenda.
