National Legislative Summit: Hon. Olamide Lawal Urges Youths to Participate More in National Politics

At the recently concluded 6th National Legislative Summit organized by the 29th Students’ Representative Assembly of the Students’ Union Government at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Hon. Olamide Lawal, Special Assistant to Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun on Youth Affairs, emphasized the crucial role of youth in Nigerian politics.

Themed “Innovative Representation: Rebooting Democracy with Innovative Legislation,” the summit featured Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, as the guest speaker. Hon. Elemide inspired the youth to believe in themselves and strive to become agents of change.

During his panel discussion, Hon. Lawal urged attendees to actively participate in politics and make impactful contributions in their respective spheres.

 

He encouraged students to utilize social media effectively and acquire practical skills to ensure sustainable livelihoods.

Hon. Lawal also acknowledged FUNAAB’s efforts in commercializing tomatoes and cassava, urging them to address the ongoing food shortage in the country.

He expressed his appreciation to the university’s management, particularly Vice-Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and the summit’s organizers, including the 29th Senate President, Dist. Sen. Bello Oluwashina, and the SUG President, for hosting such a significant event at a critical time.

Hon. Lawal concluded by thanking all involved for the opportunity to engage with and inspire the next generation of leaders.
