Video: Lagos Police Foil Kidnap Plot, K!lling Nine Suspects in Dramatic Ambush

The Lagos State Police Command, led by CP Adegoke Fayoade, successfully thwarted a major kidnapping plot targeting high net-worth individuals in Lagos.

The operation, which culminated in a fierce shoot-out, resulted in the neutralization of nine notorious kidnappers, with two others escaping with gunshot injuries.

Acting on credible intelligence received two weeks ago, the Command’s tactical teams closely monitored the gang’s activities. Their vigilance paid off when they discovered the gang’s plan to strike in the Ladipo area on July 4. Prepared and waiting, the police laid an ambush, catching the kidnappers off-guard.

The ensuing confrontation saw the kidnappers engage the police in a shoot-out, but they were ultimately overpowered by the superior firepower of the police.

The operation led to the recovery of significant arms and equipment, including four AK-47 rifles, four locally-made semiautomatic pistols, nine AK-47 magazines, three walkie-talkies, a POS machine, a loudspeaker, and two operational vehicles.

This successful operation marks the end of an eight-month pursuit of the gang, known for numerous kidnappings in the Isolo, Okota, Ejigbo, and Ladipo areas. CP Fayoade praised the efforts of the tactical teams and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the safety and security of Lagosians.

The police urge the public, especially medical practitioners, to report any individuals with gunshot injuries to the nearest police station. The Command also calls on Lagosians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in maintaining public safety.

The information was announced via the official Twitter account of SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Lagos State Command.
