Vice-President Kashim Shettima assures that President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to supporting Northern Nigeria’s development.
During a condolence visit in Kano on Wednesday, Shettima addressed a Federal Government delegation led by Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President, following the death of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar.
A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Correspondent in Kano reported Shettima’s commendation of Tinubu’s positive actions towards the North.
Shettima highlighted the appointments of key positions, including the two Ministers of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, as signs of Tinubu’s dedication to the region.
He encouraged Nigerians to back Tinubu’s initiatives for Nigeria’s advancement, noting that governance should surpass political divisions.
Emphasizing national unity and progress, Shettima appreciated the support from Kano State’s government, led by Gov. Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), during his bereavement.
Shettima stated that the country has moved from politics to governance, stressing the importance of joint efforts for national greatness.
He underscored that achieving Nigeria’s greatness is a collective duty, and political affiliations should not cause division or harm.
The vice-president called for unity and cooperation among all political parties to ensure Nigeria’s success. (NAN)
