Two people have died and three others were injured in a road accident on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road.
The collision, which took place around 11:28 am on Sunday, involved an Ash Howo Truck without a registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry with registration number APP478FS.
Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun State, confirmed the incident in Abeokuta. She said that the FRSC Zebra 50 team from the Ijebu Ode Unit Command conducted the rescue operation.
Okpe attributed the accident to speeding and loss of control, leading to the vehicles’ collision.
“The crash involved two vehicles: an Ash Howo Truck without a registration number and a Blue Toyota Camry with registration number APP478FS,” Okpe said. “Five people were involved in the crash. One male and four females. Two were killed, one male and one female, while three females were injured.”
She added that the injured were taken to General Hospital in Ijebu Ode, while the bodies were placed in the morgue.
Sector Commander CC Anthony Uga extended his condolences to the victims’ families and urged drivers to avoid speeding and remain attentive while driving.
