The Federal Government has announced Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, 2024, as public holidays in honor of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The announcement was made by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja. The statement confirmed that the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government.

Dr. Ndayako conveyed the minister’s congratulations to the Muslim community both domestically and abroad.

Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim community to embody the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) and to use the period to pray for the unity, prosperity, and stability of the nation.

“The Minister affirmed that the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is dedicated to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians.

“While extending best wishes for a joyous Eid-ul-Adha celebration, the Minister encouraged all Nigerians to take responsibility for ensuring a prosperous Nigeria for future generations,” the statement concluded.
