FG Announces Public Holiday on June 12 for Democracy Day

The Federal Government of Nigeria has designated Wednesday, June 12, as a Public Holiday to honor this year’s Democracy Day.

 

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, announced this on behalf of the Federal Government, extending congratulations to Nigerians on this occasion.

 

In a statement signed by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, and released on Tuesday, the minister said, “As we observe another Democracy Day in our nation’s history, let us all reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers and ensure that Nigeria remains a united, secure, peaceful, and indivisible entity.”

 

He encouraged Nigerians to stay committed to the principles of democratic governance.

 

Hon. Tunji-Ojo emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to implementing positive reforms to revive the economy and improve security.

 

The Minister also urged Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to recognize the progress made and look forward to a brighter future for Nigeria’s democracy.
