Senator Salisu Commits to Supporting National Sports Festival
Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, has vowed to partner with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State Chapter, for the upcoming National Festival, ‘Gateway Games 2024’.

Senator Salisu made this promise while speaking to sports journalists at the birthday celebration of Obafemi Owode Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adesina Ogunsola, in Abeokuta.
Crucial Partnership for Sports Development
The Senator emphasized the importance of partnering with Sports Writers for the overall development of sports in Nigeria. He urged them to ensure the biennial event in Ogun State becomes a significant success.
Youth Empowerment through Sports
Highlighting sports as a tool for youth empowerment, Salisu encouraged the association to raise awareness about the state government’s preparations. He also promised to create entertainment and engagement opportunities for the youth during the festival.

“I’m committed to collaborating with SWAN to support the National Sports Festival in Ogun Central. Your pride is the success of the NSF,” Salisu charged SWAN.

“If there’s anything I can do to bridge between you and the state government for a memorable event, let me know. We must be proactive to avoid reporting shortcomings later,” he added.
Call for Proposals
“Submit a position paper on how SWAN can contribute to the success of the NSF, and I will ensure it reaches the governor,” Salisu concluded.
