The Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Henry Marah, disclosed that the Accountant General and the Finance Commissioner of Kaduna State, during Nasir El-Rufai’s administration, withdrew $1.4 million and N30 billion from the state’s account without proper authorization.
Henry Marah revealed this information in an interview on Channels Television, providing an update on the ongoing investigation into the alleged financial mismanagement during El-Rufai’s tenure.
In the interview, Henry Marah stated, “The $1.4 million and N30 billion withdrawn from the Kaduna State account were taken by the Accountant General and the Finance Commissioner, which prompted their summons.
Areas where El-Rufai was implicated were also highlighted in our findings. For example, many loans he obtained bypassed the correct procedures.”
