On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command detained popular musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, for failing to settle the debt he owed after purchasing a G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.

Timeless update learned that Portable, during the vehicle’s purchase, worth N27m, paid only N13m and refused to pay the remaining N14m.

It was reported that whenever the car dealer contacted him about the balance, he claimed the vehicle was defective.

When attempts to get Portable to pay the balance failed, our correspondent learned that the car dealer reported the issue to the police, leading to Portable’s arrest.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Portable’s detention.

He said, “Yes, Portable has been detained. He bought a G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was defective. We detained him today.”
