Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has selected Omobayo Godwin, a 38-year-old engineer, as his new deputy, with inauguration imminent.
This decision follows the impeachment of the previous deputy, Philip Shaibu, by the state’s House of Assembly earlier this week.
The panel responsible for the impeachment cited Shaibu’s alleged disclosure of confidential state information as the reason for his removal.
