President Bola Tinubu has strongly condemned the alarming rate of kidnapping across the nation, asserting that those involved must be regarded as terrorists.
Tinubu made these remarks on Tuesday during a Ramadan dinner with members of the Federal judiciary, presided over by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Olukayode Ariwoola.
“We must treat kidnappers as terrorists. They are cowardly,” stated the president.
“Targeting soft spots, they have been degraded. They resort to kidnapping children from schools, causing widespread distress.
“We must classify them as terrorists to eradicate them, and I assure you, we will eradicate them.”
The dinner witnessed the presence of current and retired judicial officers, including two former CJNs, Justice Mahmud Mohammed and Justice Walter Onnoghen.
