Ogun State Set to Mobilize Contracts for Rural Road Maintenance

The Ministry of Rural Development, in collaboration with the Ogun State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), has awarded contracts for the Backlog Maintenance of Rural Roads in the state.

Commissioner for Rural Development, Mrs. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan, emphasized the importance of these projects in improving the lives of rural residents and boosting food production through better road networks.

“Infrastructure development is a key focus of our administration’s agenda, ensuring that rural roads receive the necessary maintenance and attention,” Mrs. Ilori-Oduntan stated.

The successful bidders were congratulated and urged to approach their projects with professionalism and accountability. The Permanent Secretary, Engr. Sakirudeen Salaam, highlighted the economic benefits of constructing more rural roads, emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct among contractors.

Acting Project Coordinator, Engr. Waheed Adejumo, assured transparency in the bidding process and highlighted the role of these roads in reducing post-harvest losses.

Managing Director of Lopek Construction Firm, Mr. Lere Farounbi, representing other successful bidders, expressed gratitude to the state government for the opportunity to serve and committed to timely project delivery.

The Ogun State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (OGRAAMP) organized open bids for various roads across the state, aiming to enhance connectivity and development across all three Senatorial Districts.
