The Federal Government, acting through the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has announced the removal of Tinuade Sanda from the position of managing director at the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).
This decision, conveyed via a letter dated March 21, directs EKEDC to ensure that all its personnel are directly employed by the utility and adhere to its applicable service conditions. The directive is in accordance with the powers vested in NERC by the Electricity Act of 2023.
As part of compliance with the directive, all seconded staff from WPG Ltd are to be released by EKEDC and returned to WPG Ltd. Sanda has been relieved of her duties at EKEDC with immediate effect and is to return to her employer, WPG Ltd.
She has been instructed to facilitate a smooth handover to the highest-ranking staff under her at EKEDC.
The letter expressed gratitude for Sanda’s contributions to EKEDC during her tenure as a seconded staff from WPG Ltd.
