How I Escaped from Kidnappers Den: Kaduna Student Reveals

In a daring escape from his abductors, Mustapha Abubakar, one of the students kidnapped from Kuriga in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has recounted his harrowing experience.

Abubakar revealed that while being transported by their captors, he managed to stealthily conceal himself in a shrub, resembling a snake, and successfully made his way back home.

The abducted children, ranging from ages 5 to 18, were reportedly moved by the bandits like a herd of cows, trekking through bushes and even crawling at times. Some of the children, particularly the girls, became weak and exhausted from thirst, prompting the bandits to provide motorcycles for them.

During their ordeal, the bandits instructed them to undress and lie down when a plane flew overhead. They also traversed a large river, quenching their thirst before continuing their arduous journey on foot.

Living off leaves and wild fruits due to the lack of food, Abubakar seized an opportunity when he spotted a brown shrub that matched his clothing. Concealing himself within, he crawled stealthily until the area was quiet before emerging and seeking refuge.

Encountering an elderly man struggling to walk, Abubakar sought directions to the nearest road or water source. Despite exhaustion, he pressed on until reaching Gayan, a nearby community, where he finally found safety and was able to return home.
