Why Many Nigerian Women May Remain Unmarried: Insights from Reno Omokri

Renowned social commentator Reno Omokri has issued a stark warning, suggesting that Nigeria could face an epidemic of unmarried women if the country had easier access to visas for more nations.

Omokri attributes this potential crisis to what he describes as the pervasive “Industrial Money Obtainer culture” among Nigerian women, particularly those from the southern region.

Expressing his views in a recent post on X, Omokri highlighted a case where popular gospel singer Moses Bliss married a Ghanaian woman, suggesting that women from Ghana and other places may be more appealing due to their perceived lack of emphasis on money in relationships.

He further explained that when Southern Nigerian men interact with women from other African countries or abroad who are not as focused on financial gain, they may become less interested in relationships with Nigerian women.

According to Omokri, Nigerian men are highly valued by women from countries like South Africa and Kenya, which he believes underscores the issue within Nigerian culture.

Calling for a cultural shift, particularly in Southern Nigeria, Omokri emphasized the need to combat what he sees as an excessive monetization of relationships in the region. He emphasized the need for a change in mindset, stating, “I call it as I see it!”
