Ohanaeze Youths Issue Stern Warning Against NLC Protests in Igbo Land

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has issued a stern warning to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), urging them not to bring their planned nationwide protest to Igbo land. This comes amidst growing tensions over the NLC’s scheduled protests on February 27 and 28 to address the country’s prevailing hardships.

According to Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, staging protests in Igbo land is unacceptable due to the region’s historical neglect and marginalization. Nnabuike highlighted past injustices faced by the Igbo community, including lack of representation in key government positions and insults during elections.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized the unwavering support of the Igbo community for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, presenting three key demands to his administration, including the release of detained IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, additional state allocation to the South-East, and an extra ministerial slot.
